About Us
The Firearms Accountability Initiative (FAI) is a collaborative, nonpartisan effort to hold the firearms industry accountable so it reforms its business practices and far fewer Americans are taken by gun violence. We are laser focused on reckless firearms industry actors, which operate with minimal oversight and disproportionately contribute to gun deaths and injuries.
We mobilize experts across law, research, government enforcement, and public education to advance innovative strategies that can affect lasting industry reform. FAI harnesses lessons learned from other transformative accountability efforts, including on tobacco and opioids, to help drive impacts like injunctions and multi-million dollar financial penalties for irresponsible business practices.
Our organization is intentionally built to be time-bound and to bolster existing firearms industry accountability efforts. We aim to catalyze durable accountability infrastructure that will be self-sustaining over time.
